The Right Livelihood Award Presentation 2024 will take place in Stockholm on Wednesday, 4 December.

For over 40 years, four individuals or organisations annually have received the Award. By recognising the actions of brave visionaries and building impactful connections around the world, the Award boosts urgent and long-term social change. 198 Laureates from 77 countries have received the distinction to date.

The 45th Right Livelihood Award Presentation will take place on Wednesday, December 4, starting at 19:00 CET. The ceremony broadcast from Stockholm, Sweden, will be live-streamed on our website and available via the European Broadcasting Union.

This year, Right Livelihood honours:

  • Joan Carling (Philippines): “For raising Indigenous voices in the face of the global ecological breakdown and her leadership in defending people, lands and culture.”
  • Issa Amro / Youth Against Settlements (Palestine): “For their steadfast non-violent resistance to Israel’s illegal occupation, promoting Palestinian civic action through peaceful means.”
  • Anabela Lemos / Justiça Ambiental! (Mozambique): “For empowering communities to stand up for their right to say no to exploitative mega-projects and demand environmental justice.”
  • Forensic Architecture (UK): “For pioneering digital forensic methods to ensure justice and accountability for victims and survivors of human and environmental rights violations.”
